Map Tools :

The Map Tools are used to navigate the map by zooming in, zooming out, zooming to the full extent, moving the map in the desired direction and to select a feature by clicking on it in the map. The navigation buttons around the map - 'North', 'South', 'East' and 'West' also allow the user to move (pan) the map in the desired direction. 

(Tip: Holding the cursor above a button will display a functional description about the button).

ZOOM IN TOOL - Zooms into the selected area on the map.
ZOOM OUT TOOL - Zooms out from the selected area on the map.
ZOOM TO FULL EXTENT - Zooms to the full extent.
ZOOM TO PREVIOUS EXTENT - Zooms to the previous extent.
PAN TOOL - Pans the map in the desired direction.
IDENTIFY TOOL - Identifies the feature at the click location on the map and displays information about the feature in the Results Tab.
HELP - Displays the on-line help document.

 

Function Tabs :

The Function Tabs allow users to perform specific functions like search for features at a location, view information about a specific feature, and create a printable layout.

SEARCH TAB - The Search Tab allows the user to search for specific Practitioners or Facilities. The results of the Search are displayed in the Results Tab.
AREA SEARCH TAB - The Area Search Tab allows the user to search for Practitioners or Facilities near a specific address. The results of the Area Search are displayed in the Results Tab.

RESULTS TAB - The Results Tab is used to display a list of matches for the search address (if there are multiples) and then display and print the list of features that match the search parameters.

DETAILS TAB - The Details Tab is used to display detail information about the selected feature. The features can be selected graphically using the Identify Tool or by clicking on a feature under the RESULTS tab.

LEGEND TAB - The Legend Tab displays a map legend.
PRINT TAB - The Print Tab allows the user to create a printable version of the map. The user can specify a title for the map, paper size and orientation. Once the layout is generated in a new window, the user can use the File --> Print option to send the layout to a printer.

 

Using the Area Search Function :

The Search Function allows user to find features at/near a location, based on specific parameters.

(Note: An Address and City combination OR an Address and Zip Code combination, is required. If all three parameters are entered Address and City get priority).

Type Radio Buttons - Use the radio buttons to limit the type of features allowed by the search to Practitioners or Facilities.
Type Drop Down List - REQUIRED. Choose a specific type of Practitioner or Facility to search for.
Specialty Drop Down List - OPTIONAL; Practitioners Only. Limit your search further by choosing a Practitioner specialty to search for.
Address/City or Address/Zip - Enter a complete street address and city, or a complete street address and zip code, to use as the starting point for the search.

Search Distance - Enter the distance, in miles, from the Address to search for matching features.
(Tip: Start with a small Search Distance, especially in densely populated areas as large Distances will slow search performance. )
# of Results - Limit the # of results returned by the search. 10 is the default.
- Click this to clear all Search parameters, results, and details.
- Click this to run Search.
